Final Score: TOFC (3) - Abbotsford Mariners (0)
The Thompson Okanagan FC (TOFC) U14 Boys finished their Y-League Season with a 3-0 victory over the U14 Abbotsford Mariners on Saturday July 31, 2010 at Marshall Fields in Vernon. Playing at home, TOFC was determined to improve their previous record of a draw to the Mariners when they travelled to Abbotsford earlier in the season. The game started with end-to-end play as both teams fought for possession of the ball. Gradually TOFC began passing and moving the ball up the field and pressuring the Mariners' defence. In the 10th minute of the game TOFC's offensive pressure paid off as they were awarded a free kick just outside the 18 yard box. Midfielder Brody Osborne sent in a beautiful ball to forward Dan Schager inside the box who headed the ball into the back of the net for TOFC's first goal of the game. This goal seemed to increase the TOFC confidence as they now controlled the momentum of the game. TOFC midfielders Osborne, Matthew Fielding, Dom Haynes, Ayo Fashanu, Tyler Shalansky and Cole Kingzett played a strong half taking control and winning battles to create some good scoring opportunities. Osborne had two great shots on net that just went wide of goal and Fashanu would come close hitting the crossbar. Defender Walker Shanks also sent in two great balls off free kicks that were saved off by the Mariner goalkeeper. Midfielder Haynes would set up TOFC's second goal with a well-placed corner kick that was sent home by forward Jacob Dolinar. The first half ended 2-0 for TOFC.
TOFC maintained their offensive pressure throughout the second half. Forward Schager assisted on TOFC's third and final goal of the game passing off to Osborne who broke away from the Mariners' defence beating the goalie to tap the ball into the left corner of the net. The Abbotsford Mariners offensive drives at TOFC goal were shut down by the strong defensive efforts of Chris Pires and his fellow defenders, Joe Overton, Walker Shanks, Ayden Ledding and Noah Varley. Goalkeeper Victor Gouchee played another great game earning his third shutout of the season.

Midfielder Brody Osborne had TOFC's first shot on net in the opening minutes of the game. This set the tone of the game as TOFC came out strong from the start determined to get on the scoreboard first. TOFC's midfield line of Osborne, Matthew Fielding, Dom Haynes, Cole Kingzett, Tyler Shalansky and Liam Duncan carried the play for most of the first half winning the ball in the midfield and creating great scoring opportunities as they moved up the field. TOFC succeeded in getting the first goal with a through ball to forward Dan Schager who battled for the ball in the front of the net and managed to pass off to midfielder Dom Haynes who's strong left foot found the back of the net. Getting the first goal seemed to spur on the team as Osborne had two more great shots on net that went just wide. Osborne's determination would pay off when midfielder Shalansky started the play with a forward header from the half to Schager who put the ball to Osborne's feet so he could put it home. The half ended with TOFC up 2-0.

The Thompson Okanagan FC (TOFC) U14 Boys Super Y League Soccer team faced off against Mountain FC and lost 3-1 on Saturday July 17, 2010 in Burnaby. The long drive that day seemed to affect the TOFC players as they came out slow off the start. Mountain set the tone of the game coming out strong offensively and scoring within the first few minutes of the game. Mountain continued to dominate offensively for much of the first half scoring again 17 minutes into the half. TOFC moved the ball up the field but had difficulty penetrating Mountain's defence until late in the half when midfielder Brody Osborne managed to get around the defence for TOFC's first shot on net. Fellow midfielder Cole Kingzett followed up with another long high shot on net just outside the 18 yard box. TOFC continued to press and minutes before the half ended, midfielder Ayo Fashanu beat the Mountain defence to pass the ball into the top of the box where Osborne connected with a hard shot to hit the left goalpost and rebound into the back of the net. The half ended 2-1 for Mountain.
The second half saw more end-to-end play as TOFC came out much stronger and started to win some battles in the midfield. Kingzett had a great run on net beating the defence to set up forward Dan Schager who shot just wide of the net. Mountain scored their third goal of the game late in the half on a breakaway. TOFC battled back in the last minutes of the game but were unable to capitalize on any scoring opportunities. The final score was 3-1 for the Mountain home team.
