Thompson Okanagan's U16 boys lifted the first silverware of 2011 when they won the Sunplex Arena Innaugural Kelowna Mens Futsal Championship this week. The boys came out on top 6-3 in a thrilling final against top quality opposition made up of players from Kelowna Mens League Division 1 and Okanagan's PCSL team. Goals by Braden Peters, Rostam Turner, Andrew Stevenson, Robin Whittaker and a pair from defender Sam Bowers, were enough to lift the cup for the TOFC team. Congratulations! |

Thompson Okanagan's U15 and U16 boys have been busy playing futsal this winter at Kelowna's new, purpose-built Sunplex Arena. Aside from regular practises, both squads have been competing in Kelowna's first ever mens futsal league. On completion of a regular season of about 16 matches, both of our teams found themselves in the playoff places, and were eventually paired against each other in the semi final match this week. The U16 boys came out on top of a tense and exciting game....both teams fully committed to trying to reach the final. The U16s now play in the final next Thusday, January 20th kick off at 7.05pm.....all support is very welcome.
Congratulations to both sets of players !

Blue Meets Red as U16 Boys take on the Kelowna United U18A Boys on Halloween Sunday. The friendly ended in a tie.

Thompson Okanagan FC U16 players Robin Whittaker and Andrew Stevenson are headed back to England this week for a second trial period with English Championship club, Scunthorpe United. The Kelowna based duo spent two weeks with Scunthorpes U16 Academy squad this summer. The trial consisted of intense morning and afternoon practise sessions with the U16s and with Scunthorpes U17/18 Youth squad. The invitation for both of them to return for a further week is the next step for the boys in their efforts to claim one of the few available places on a two year apprenticeship program. Well done...... and Good Luck!
